Food Co-op PMA

All over America PMA’s are opening up to sell community-grown, raised and produced items such as vegetables, baked goods and meat. These PMA’s sell the community goods on consignment, a small percentage of the sale price going to the PMA owner. This allows a community to grow and sell their own items, to raise and sell their own meat and to bake and sell their own baked goods.

A PMA Food Co-op allows a community to obtain food as close to the sources as possible.  Our government currently controls and regulates our food sources - how, when, what, and where our food comes from.  Local small farms, garden growers, artisan producers and home bakers are strictly controlled, limiting how much and where they can offer their products.  The restrictions discourage talented producers from offering what they make or grow.  But through a PMA Market/Co-op a community can grow, make, and sell their items, among the members, without government oversight.  This encourages everyone to get involved in promoting a community’s food security and self-sustainment.  Watch the talent emerge from your community as people start to participate - growing and producing.  A PMA Market/Co-op not only provides local healthy food but promotes a strong sense of community through the participation of providing to one another.

From fruits & vegetables to meats and organic spices and herbs, everything can be sold from a PMA. Your neighbors stock the shelves with their homemade homegrown delights.
